Hello

Resize a PDF in KB — Compress to 100, 200, 500 KB or Less

Portal rejecting your PDF for being too large? Pick your target — 100, 200, 500 KB, 1 MB or 2 MB — and every page is re-encoded to fit, at the best quality that limit allows. Marksheets, certificates, signed forms. Free, and nothing is uploaded.

1. Choose your target file size

Anything from 30 KB up to a 2 MB ceiling — every PDF comes out at or below the size you pick. Change the target at any time and the files below are re-compressed automatically.

2. Add your PDFs

Marksheets, certificates, signed application forms, scanned documents — several at once is fine.

Why portals keep rejecting your PDF

A phone scanning app saves each page as a big, barely-compressed image — a two-page marksheet comes out at 5–10 MB without you doing anything wrong. Meanwhile almost every Indian exam board, university and bank portal caps PDF uploads somewhere between 100 KB and 2 MB. The file is fine; it is simply built far heavier than the portal will accept.

This page fixes exactly that: pick the number the form asked for, add the PDF, download a file that fits.

Sizes different portals usually ask for

What you are uploadingCommon limit
Single-page certificate or ID proof100–200 KB
Signed application form200–500 KB
Multi-page marksheet or transcript500 KB – 1 MB
Scanned document bundle1–2 MB

These are the usual ranges, not a rule. Always check the official notification or the portal's upload note — every site sets its own limit.

How the compression works

The PDF is opened inside your browser, each page is redrawn, and then re-encoded as a compressed page image. For every page the tool searches for the highest quality that keeps the whole file inside your target — and only if quality alone cannot get there does it step the resolution down and try again. The rebuilt PDF keeps every page at its original dimensions, so it prints exactly like the original.

If your PDF is already smaller than the target, it is left completely alone — no re-encoding, nothing lost for nothing.

One honest trade-off

To hit a strict KB number, the pages are rebuilt as images — which means the text in the compressed file is no longer selectable or copyable. It stays perfectly readable and printable, which is what upload portals actually check. Keep your original file for anything that needs live text; upload the compressed one.

Nothing is uploaded

Reading, redrawing and rebuilding all happen inside your browser on your own device. Your marksheet, your signed form, your bank statement — none of it ever travels across the internet, none of it is stored, and none of it is seen by anyone else.

Send it straight to WhatsApp

The Share to WhatsApp button opens your phone's share sheet with the compressed PDF attached — pick the chat and send. On a desktop browser the file downloads and WhatsApp Web opens so you can attach it there.

Working with images instead?

For a JPG or PNG that needs to fit a KB limit — a passport photo, a signature — use the resize image in KB tool. And to put an Aadhaar's front and back on one printable page, the crop, clean and join tool does the whole job.

Questions people ask

How do I reduce a PDF to 200 KB for an online form?

Press the 200 KB button above, then add your PDF. Every page is re-encoded at the highest quality that keeps the whole file under 200 KB. Download and upload to the form.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The whole process runs in your browser — the document never leaves your device, is never stored, and is never seen by anyone.

Will the text still be selectable after compressing?

No — to hit a strict KB target the pages are rebuilt as compressed images, so the text becomes part of the picture. It stays readable and printable (which is what portals check), but keep your original for anything that needs live text.

Why is my scanned PDF so large in the first place?

Scanner apps save pages as very high-resolution images with little compression. Two pages can easily be 5–10 MB — hundreds of times over a 200 KB portal limit. Re-encoding at a sensible resolution fixes it.

PDF ka size KB mein kaise kam kare mobile se?

Target chuniye — 100, 200, 500 KB ya 1–2 MB — phir PDF add kijiye. Tool har page ko compress karke poori file ko us size ke andar le aayega. Download kijiye ya seedhe WhatsApp par bhej dijiye. PDF kahin upload nahi hoti.

Can I compress a password-protected PDF?

Not directly — the tool cannot open a locked file, and it will say so. Remove the password first, then compress.
